Centre for Social Research and Empowerment (CSRE)is a registered not-for-profit organisation conceived and launched in Nov 2015 with a vision to provide a common platform to professionals, educationists, social activists, philanthropists and senior officials of Government and PSUs, both retired and serving, for sharing, networking, co-ordinating and co-operating among themselves for achieving excellence in the field of education, economic development and social justice. CSRE therefore, works simultaneously as an umbrella organization for similar NGOs/ organizations. The prime focus areas of CSRE are empowering the marginalized class of society through Education, economic development and social justice. To achieve this objective, CSRE has assigned its pool of professionals to the above three areas: Education, Legal Aid and advice, and Business Development. All the above three forums provide services daily at its registered office at Raza Appt, behind Shyam Lawn, Jafar Nagar, Nagpur-440013.

My father was fighting with death when I was preparing for my SSC exam. I was second topper of my school in SSC. I wanted to pursue NEET and become doctor but could not concentrate on studies due to the death of my father and poor condition at home. We faced very difficult days. CSRE team consoled and stood behind me. I completed my HSC and NEET coaching. CSRE arranged for my tuition and college fees. I am now placed in Medical college for B.Sc Nursing Course.
I have a daughter studying in 12 th standard. She is preparing for NEET. I am a working
woman and my husband has left me. I somehow manage my family expenses by working in
one establishment but unable to afford tuition fees. CSRE helped me and lend me monetary
help to pay coaching fees. I am really thankful to CSRE.
My father had a good business and he used to help others when he was alive. But destiny
has taken him away from us and he passed away prematurely. This was a great shock for my
family. We were five members and our sustenance became difficult. Our relatives and
friends deserted us. In such a difficult situation, some one directed us to CSRE. We find
solace here. I wanted to become CA. Looking at my conviction, CSRE paid entire expenses of
CA course. I have cracked CA final now. Adeeba has become CA only due to hand holding
and kind support of CSRE. I shall always remain thankful to them.
After scoring 95%tile in JEE mains, I was hoping for NIT or NDA but could not land at
good NIT. CSRE Team and its President advised me to take admission in National Fire Service
College, Nagpur. I was not fully aware of the college. CSRE explained me that it’s the only
college of fire engineering in India having bright chances of placement. I am now in my final
year and expecting placement in good PSU, as the placement ratio here is about 100%. I am
thankful to CSRE for mentoring and paying my tuition fees of college.
I am a merit student of SSC from Karanja town of Wardha district. My father is a
mechanic earning hardly Rs 10000 pm. It was insufficient to afford my coaching expenses for
NEET. I was referred to CSRE for financial support and counselling. I am now placed in Govt
Ayurvedic College, Nagpur. CSRE has helped me to pay my coaching and college fees. Every
time my father approached CSRE, I was not disappointed. I am highly thankful to CSRE for
supporting my education.
After completing my BE and got admission in Assam Engineering College after passing
GATE exam, I somehow managed admission. I came to CSRE for guidance. They provided
financial support for managing my other expenses and eased my higher education.
Three Startups and three MSMEs have approached the CSRE Business Development Forum for mentorship and Support. They are in the process of Ideation, Validation and Realization. During the financial year 202-23, more than 100 prospecting Startups/ MSMEs visited our centre for mentorship guidance and Support. During the financial year 2021-22 and 22-23 we have made 15 and 25 outreach visits to various locations at industrial hubs of Nagpur and Kamptee for entrepreneurial Support and business development of the society.
Two young entrepreneurs approached CSRE’s Business Development Forum after their printing press business went into closure due to huge losses post-COVID-19 period. They didn’t have a proper idea on which they could work for their survival and also start a new business. Their passion for creating a new business has dramatically impressed CSRE’s Business Development Forum. After proper counselling and mentoring, they were asked to manufacture premium handmade Chocolates. They worked very hard for six months and after a lot of research and development, they have developed products almost at par with the established brands. After that, the branding and marketing team branded and marketed their products and launched them in the market in Nov 2022. The products are now placed on few thousand shelves of Vidarbha and Chattisgarh.
A lady selling homemade Papad on a door-to-door basis and with little margin and a small market approached CSRE for help and Support. CSRE’s Business Development Forum and its marketing team have helped her by counselling, mentoring, branding, and marketing its products. Now, she is earning a higher margin with a bigger market reach.
A lady who earns her livelihood by manufacturing garments came for micro-finance. CSRE has provided Micro Finance from its own resources. It has also helped her get micro finance from a credit cooperative society at very reasonable terms. She has repaid the existing loan and got a higher loan for increased business activities. Now, she has established a good rapport in the market for her products, has further expanded its business turnover, and is a very satisfied Entrepreneur.
Six Artisans and two businessmen approached CSRE for Entrepreneurship support. They used to manufacture handmade products on a Conversion Cost basis. They could not earn enough profits, as intermediaries took away a significant portion. They were aware of the market for their products. Their main handicap was Working Capital Finance. CSRE extended its helping hand through Counselling, Mentorship, Guidance, documentation, etc. All of them were introduced to govt scheme of Mudra loan. They got Mudra Loan / Cash Credit Limits from Nationalized Banks and microfinance from Credit Society. Now, they are financially independent Entrepreneurs and out of the clutches of intermediaries.
A 70-year-old widow from Nagpur, whose only son died in youth, came for Support to earn a livelihood for herself and two grandchildren. CSRE has provided mentorship, arranged micro finance, Financial Support for purchasing some essential equipment, and marketing support for its homemade masala products. Initially, she had been moving from house to house to sell its masala products. With the Support of CSRE’s Business Development Forum and marketing team, her products have been re-launched after branding. Her products are getting good responses from the market, and now she is earning enough to take care of livelihood and education of her two grand children
Both of us were married five years before and have one daughter out of wedlock. We were living happily for one year but then the dispute started between us. Nazia left her husband and was staying with her mother. Few attempts were made by our relatives to settle our dispute. After lot of efforts, the dispute could not be resolved. Nazia had filed domestic violence case in court and their relation were severely disturbed beyond repair. Nazia was brought to CSRE office by her uncle. The legal Aid Team the established contact with Abid her mother and Nazia’s family. Several meetings were held to resolve the issue but it could not be settled easily. Ultimately constant persuasion by legal aid team finally cracked the nut and Abid agreed to accept her back. Now the couple is living happily
I had filed case in consumer court against ICICI bank for credit card issue however, my case was dismissed in default in consumer court. I was not advised properly by advocates. I approached CSRE Legal Aid team where the team leader is former chairman of consumer court. He advised me about the proper course of action. I am now satisfied by the advice.
My land was wrongly classified as forest land by Govt. GR. Therefore I was not able to take benefit of the produce of the land. I tried several times and for many years to change the Govt. Resoluction. I approached officers but nobody could properly guide me. I came to know about CSRE’s Legal Aid cell when I approached them the team heard me patiently and explained me the proper way and plan to resolve the issue. Now I am fully satisfied that my problem will be resolved soon, I am grateful to team CSRE.
I was in love with a girl from last 3-4 years. The family of girl was not ready for the marriage. We therefore left our home and married with the help of religious priest. The father of the girl filed a police complaint. We were staying at Aurangabad after marriage. Police traced our location and took us to Nagpur. The parents of my wife allured and convinced my wife to accompany them for few days, therefore she went with them. However my wife’s parent kept her in wrongful confinement and did not send her back to me. I am a driver and earn limited salary of Rs 10000 per month. I was under tremendous pressure of police and family of my wife. I approached CSRE for help. They filed my case in high court by engaging advocate. The High Court ruled in my favour and my wife has come back to me. I am indeed thankful to the CSRE for extending timely help
We were happily married couple for about two years. However, few problems cropped up between us. My wife left me with daughter and refused to come back to cohabit with me. She was staying with her parents and filed court case to get separation from me. I had tried several time to convince my wife and her parents but my attempts failed. I came to know about legal aid cell of CSRE and approached them for help. They contacted my in laws and my wife. After their repeated efforts my in laws agreed to send my wife back to me. Now she is leading a happy life with me. CSRE team has saved both of us from legal complications and resolved our issue. We both are really grateful to CSRE Legal Aid Team
I am a construction skilled worker, earning about Rs 15000 per month. I had booked a residential plot by investing my hard earned saving. I paid Rs 2 lakhs to the builder in installments. I was shocked when the buider refused to hand over possession of plot. I asked him for refund of my deposit but he was avoiding me. I approached CSRE’s Legal Aid Cell. They helped me to lodge police complaint to police commissioner and issued legal notice. Consequently the builder agreed to repay my deposit after police intervention and legal action. The builder returned me the double amount as a compensation. I am thankful to CSRE’s Lagal Team for resolving my case and helping me in getting refund.
